Power system stabilizers (PSSs) are nowroutinely used in the industry to damp outpower system oscillations. In this paper,design of Single-Machine Infinite-Bus powersystem stabilizer (PSS) using Nelder Mead(NM) – particle swarm optimization (PSO)Hybrid Algorithm is proposed. The designproblem of the proposed controller isformulated as an optimization problem andNM-PSO algorithm is employed to search foroptimal controller parameters. The non-linearsimulation results are presented under widerange of operating conditions. Thecomparison results with PSO Algorithm andNM Algorithm demonstrate that proposedalgorithm ( NM-PSO) is able to provideefficient damping for low frequencyoscillations
