Aromatic Amines Compounds as Corrosion Inhibitors forStainless Steel in H2SO4 Solution abstract
The corrosion efficiency of aromatic amines for mild steel in 0.5 M H2SO4 was investigated usingpolarization and weight loss measurements. The results revealed that these inhibitors exhibit goodcorrosion inhibition even at a very low concentration. Polarization curves showed that all of thecompounds are mixed type inhibitors. The adsorption of inhibitors is found to obey Langmuirisotherm. The relationship between molecular structure of these compounds and their inhibitionefficiency which was investigated by quantum chemical calculations indicates that the inhibitionefficiency has lucid correlation with the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy levels andelectron charge of oxygen atoms.
