Variable Reluctance Machines An Analysis Approach abstract

Switched Reluctance Motors (SRM) represent a new class of interesting electrical machines. Nevertheless , unlike conventional machines, there is no a satisfactory theory for handling their operational aspects, mainly for handling their operational aspects, mainaly due to the fact that they operate at a highly saturated reigme. However, the analytical approach is the key to deal with translent and steady state analysis for any class of electrical machine. Using these equations, one could emphasise the specificity of these machines, optimize their structure design etc. this paper provides the general field, torque and coltage equations of SRMs. The interimsic performance as well as some non-trivial properties of such machines are indicated using these equations.
