With the help of an extended simulation program the complete control loop of automatic generation control (AGO has been simiilated . this This simulation allows significant parameters and functions within this control loop to be varied, e.g - resolution of tie-line measurements - type of telemetering system - without delay -cyclic measurement and acquisition with variable cycle & delay time This simulation has been carried out in a 30 node test network.To show the effect of tie-line bias control 'this network has been separated into two areas, each controlled by AGC The parameters of one AGC control loop can be changed individually T he results of the simulation have always been compared with the results of an 'ideal' AN: analog controller '12 billresolution of measurements, no delay in data acquiIsition The conclusion of this study is, that some of the normally strin gent requirements of AGC performance could be lowered without losing too much of the control quality
