THE ICE AND WIND LOADS FOR THE DESIGN OF HIGH AND VERY HIGH VOLTAGE OVERHEAD ELECTRIC LINES abstract
The determination of the calculation loads due to the ice and wind represents one of the most important elements in the overhead electric lines design. The choice of too small values will produce an augmentation of the overhead lines reliability, but considering too heavy calculation conditions leads to a considerable increase in investment costs and these loads determination taking into account the theoretical studies and the experience in Romania and other countries. The following matters are to be discussed in the said paper : introducing on the calculations of different loads depending on the line importance, selection of the conductors arrangement and spacing after the ice and wind loads values, preventing from the unfair effects on the conductors vibration and galopping and also of the conductor jump by ice load dropping.
