An Automation Subsystem with Distributed Intelligence For Enhanced Flexibility, Availability and Reliability abstract
A modern, future-orientated instrumentation and control system must be capable of fulfilling stringent requirements as regarding fault tolerance and must be still flexible enough to be easily adapted to the particular application.
Continuity, further expansion of system features and an improved price/performance ratio provided the basis for the development of a new automation subsystem with distributed intelligence. A hew automation subsystem has been added to the entire process control system to achieve functional redundancy throughout the system, from the control room right up to the individual open-loop control level.
