ELECTRICAL INTERCONNECTION BETWEEN IRAN & NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES NETWORK abstract

Electrical interconnection between neighbouring countries network has been always of great importance in power industry since it can be used as an effective factor to ensure a reliable supply of electricity for consumers and to reduce supply costs. The varying time of daily and seasonal peaks resulting from the varying time of sunrise and sunset as well as wide use of air conditioning in summer and electric heater in winter is an important point in energy interchange betweenneighbouring countries. Furthermore in some border regions, by making use of neighbouring country power network, one can make a substantial amount of saving in new investment plan.At present only the electrical interconnection with Turkey Pakistan and USSR are considered by Iranian authorities. With respect to bulk power transmission link with Turkey, a comprehensive technical and economic studies has been performed and 2 single circuit 400 KV transmission line has been selected as the best scheme. In these studies various technical aspects as load flow, stability, short circuit, subsynchronous frequencies.750 KV transmission link,HVDC,load and frequency control, etc. have been considered. The result of these studies has been submitted in this article.
