MICROPROCESSOR BASED MAXIMETER abstract

Energy management load faclor correction and optimal operation of installations are very important in electrical lariff definition . For performing above mentioned energy and maximum demand measurement in peak and nonpeak hours are very essential . A microprocessor based maximeter which is installed into a two tariff counter , instead of mechanical demand meters is designed for measuring energy and maximum demand . This maximeter is the new and perfect solution to complicated tariff structures . This tariff equipment allows energy Registration related to two different tariff or more and providing for two maximum demand evaluations 1 A quartz clock with calendar funetion which is computed by microprocessor system is the time standard for all time related operations .A chargeable back up battery secures stored ata and ensures continuos operation of the clock for two days power failure . For data retrieval the maximum has an easy – to – read push – button – operated seven – segment LED display with eight digits and an infrared two-way communication interface for reading arid programming by an electronic counter reader . The capabilities of this maximeter. are as follows: - measurenient of active energy in two tariff - measurenient of maximum demand in two tariff - registration of reactive energy - possibility to store the current reading of all energy and demand registers at the moment of each maximum demand reset with date of reset. - possibility to eliminate the demand measuring for Fridays - possibility to change the tariff hours monthly seasonally - possibility t o store and reset the demand automatically in each month - computing storing and displaying the last 4 digits of the accumulative (total of registered maximum demand)
