NEED FOR OPTIMISED PARAMETERS IN SELECTION OF BOILER FEED PUMPS abstract
Boiler Feed Pump is one' of the most sophisticated equipment in a thermal power station. This equipment is responsible for uninterrupted supply of feed water to the boiler under all operating conditions and therefore its reliability is of paramount importance. Furthermore, this being the highest speed rotating element in the whole T.G. Cycle, its efficient and *reliable operation plays a major part in the reliability of the T.G. set which in turn depends upon the sizing criterion adopted alongwith design and manufacturing aspects.
In this paper, an attempt has been made to highlight the sizing criterion for "BOILER FEED PUMP" with respect to its capacity and dynamic head requirements. Our endeavor has been to ensure that the selection results in the most economical and optimum design for continuous operation throughout the life of the plant.
