COMPACT LINES WITH BIDIMMSIONAL COLD F0F4MED STRCTURES abstract
Today the environmental aspects are determinant in overhead EHV line feasibility mainly in urban areas of industrialized countries where land occupation and visual impact have to be reduced. The above constraints play an important role in the optimization of both insulation and structures of the so called compact lines', so implying extra costs with respect to the conventional lines. The paper deals with a compact line without longitudinal resistance with bidimensional cold formed towers suitable to reduce the above additional costs. After a detailed description of the main features of this solution and its typical design and construction procedures, an extended application to various 132 W lines in different egions of Italy is discussed.
