PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT OF THE POWER SYSTEM STABILITY MARGINS

Essentially, an integral steady-state stability margin (ISSM) and a reliable method to obtain the trajectories of the power system variables in a regime worsening process are derived. ISSM can be useful both in power system (P.S.) developmetrtloperation planning and on-line security control. T'he graphical excursion of 1SSM in various scenarios of PS state degrading offers a comprehensive understanding in comparing regimes to each other or in determining the position of a certain regime as against the possible limits of stable operation.
