Fault location estimations on Extra High Voltage Transmission Lines has a significant effect on the power restoration when power systems are subjected to abnormal conditions such as short circuits. This paper presents the assessment of the accuracy of accurate fault location algorithm for EHV two terminal shunt compensated transmission lines. The algorithm requires transmission modal parameters and free of the effect of source variations.
