FAULT DIAGNOSTICS OF POWER TRANSFORMERS OPERATING IN HEAT ELECTRIC POWER STATION abstract
There are many diagnostic methods for detecting transformer winding faults : dissolved gas analysis (DGA), acoustic sensing methods, partial discharge detection techniques, noise and vibration measurements of transformer's tank. short-circuit inductive reactance measurements. low voltage impulse (LU1) method and other. The LUI-testing, short-circuit inductive reactance measurments and dissolved gas analysis appear to be very efficient for detecting transformer winding faults in the Heat Electric Power Station of Uolzhsky Automobile Manufacturer.
This paper presents an application's experience of some diagnostic methods to check the condition of transformer windings. The LUI method and short-circuit inductive reactance measurements are sensitive for detecting such faults as radial, axial winding deformations, a twisting of low-voltage or regulating winding, a losing of winding's pressing and other. The dissolved gas analysis is efficient to detect such winding faults as high overloading. overheating. insulation's ageing and disruption. pollution of insulation and transformer oil, short-cir cuited transformer core plates.
