Abstract:
Curriculum development requires the participation of all influential forces in various stages of decision-making that meanwhile the teachers are of special importance. The teachers are the most important element in the success of the curricula due to the familiarity with the issues and needs of the students and school and the valuable experience that they obtained by interaction with learners. The teacher participation in curriculum development process have been introduced since specializing the areas of curriculum development but the amount of participation varies in the different centralized and decentralized systems and there are different ideas about the amount of teacher participation in the curriculum development process. This article deals with the procedures, necessity, objectives, domains, methods, barriers and strategies in this regard by emphasis on the teacher participation in some curriculum development systemsand by emphasis on the curriculum development system in Iran
