Abstract:

This study investigated Iran Language Institute Advanced Series in terms of learning objectives based on Bloom's Revised Taxonomy. It examined the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains to see how the critical thinking skills are used and to what extent these books are different from each other. For these purposes, the frequencies, percentages and Standard Residual were analyzed. Results revealed that the lower-order cognitive skills (i.e. remembering, understanding and applying) were used more frequently than the higher-order ones (i.e. analyzing, evaluating and creating) in ILI Advanced Series. However, there were not any significant changes in cognitive skills from Book 1 to Book 2 and Book 3. Although the sub categories of affective skills especially the Valuing in Advanced 2 were more than the other books, the affective skills have not been focused differently in ILI Advanced Series. Finally according to Chi-square we could claim that there were significant differences among ILI advanced Series in terms of sub categories of psychomotor skills.
