Abstract:

Increasing internet use to access information and online shopping significantly impacts the retailer industry and calls attention to learn more about website performance and evaluation. This study analyzes the effect of the Internet distribution channels on retailer company performance from owner of websites viewpoint. For this purpose, a research is conducted on effect of the Internet adoption among 180 retailer companies in Information Technology (IT) domain in Iran. Thus, six performance indicators and four different Internet strategies have been investigated. Results confirm that having more complicated Internet strategies lead to higher performance for IT companies As well as the performance of the independent retailers are higher than the multiple retailers.
