Abstract:
Experimental study of thermal conductivity of Fe2O3 Nanofluid is presented in this research. Fe2O3 nanoparticles of size about 30 nm were purchased from ParsLima Co. Scanning electronic microscopy and tunneling electronic microscopy photographs show the successful synthesis of these nanoparticles. Thermal conductivity was measured by KD-2 apparatus with accuracy of +_ 0.1 The experiments were performed at temperatures ranging from 20 to 70 c and different volume fractions (0.1-0.9). The obtained results show that thermal conductivity variation with temperature, at volume fractions below 0.1%, is small compared to the higher volume fractions. Moreover, the minimum and maximum increase in the thermal conductivity at volume fraction of 0.9% is 11% at 20 c and 30% at 70c respectively. The obtained results are in good agreement with Timofeeva model
