Examining the thermal mechanical properties of Pullulan-Gelatin Nano biocomposite film abstract
The use of biodegradable edible films for enhanced preserving of products has directed many attentions in recent years. One of the new solutions to improve the physical and mechanical properties of degradable films is the use of nano particles. The present study made use of the cellulose nano fiber to improve different properties of Pullulan - Gelatin composite film. Pullulan - Gelatin composite film was provided through the adding of cellulose nano fiber on 4, 7, 10, 13 weight percent levels to the pullulan - Gelatin biopolymer matrix. Physical and thermal mechanical properties of the films werestudied. The attachment of this nano particle to the polymer bed resulted in increase of moisture related to the pullulan - Gelatin composite film which led to the decrease of glass transmission temperature elated to the nano composite films. The storage modulus was increased in lower temperature ranges with the increase of cellulose nano fiber levels in pullulan - gelatin composite film while it was reported to decrease in higher levels due to high moisture
