Abstract:

In this work, we use glycerol and urea as green and cheap sources of carbon quantum dots (CQD) inmodification of Fe3O4NPs and used it for the formation and stabilization of palladium nanoparticles. The new materialis characterized by different techniques such as TEM, SEM, XPS, XRD, AAS, EDX-mapping, and VSM. This magneticsupported palladium catalysts Pd@CQD@Fe3O4, is used as an efficient catalyst for the reduction of aromatic nitrocompounds to primary amines at room temperature and Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of different aryl halides as wellas for challenging heteroaryl bromides and aryl diazonium salts with arylboronic acids and with potassium phenyltrifluoroborate. Magnetically recyclable catalyst has been reused for 10 consecutive runs with small decrease ofactivity and the reused catalyst characterized by TEM, VSM and XPS. Using different experiments such as hot filtrationand poisoning tests, it has been shown that true catalyst work under homogeneous conditions according to the releasereturnpathway of active Pd species.
