Abstract:
The experimental work was aimed at gaining a fundamental observation of the expansion nozzle temperature (80- 100˚C) and the dissolution pressure effects (75-120 bar) on the mean particles diameter in RESS processing of ibuprofen-CO2 system. A 2-dimentional Sp-line equation has been fitted on the experimental results. The mean particles size values were calculated in all experimental points by the fitted equation and results were compared with the experimental data to confirm the model accuracy (8%). The optimum operational point (dissolution pressure of 86 bar and nozzle temperature of 82˚C ), that leads to the minimum mean particles diameter (40 nm), were also determined by mathematical optimization method and was confirmed experimentally. Meanwhile the mean particle diameters were predicted in 600 more operational points by the fitted equation and results were drawn in form of a that show the nozzle temperature and dissolution pressure simultaneous impacts on the products mean size.
