Abstract:

Buckling analysis of a sixteen-layer composite beam under various boundary conditions including Clamped, hinged and free at one end and clamped conditions at the other one is performed for different fiber degrees using Differential Quadrature Method (DQM). The results are compared to an analytical method. A Nano-composite beam including four layers is studied and the effect of the order of the layers is discussed. Different boundary conditions are studied to obtain which one is more resistant. Also the Differential Quadrature Method is utilized to solve the equation of buckling. It is found that the buckling loads of a Na11o-composite beam in clamped conditions are much higher than the beam when one of its ends is hinged. In the hinged condition of one end of the Nano-composite beam, buckling load is about eight titnes more than the beam with free conditions. In a Nano- composite with multiple layers, it is very effective if the layers with the angle of 0 degree place in the top and bottom of the beam. The effect of volume fraction of carbon Nano tube is also discussed.
