Abstract:

Desertification as an environmental problem, national, regional and global sustainable development, is suffered a serious challenge. And every country should contribute in solution this problem and this contribution except with finding effective factor in desertification for prevention of its trend development in these areas is not possible. In order to evaluate desertification in Khezrabad region were used of IMDPA model. In this research two factors with 10 indexes were investigated. Each of the investigated indexes was analyzed and scored based on work units. Data layers of each index were made by Arc GIS software. By compiling data layers and calculating geometric mean of indexes, desertification rate map of the region was drawn. According to the selected indexes, final desertification map shows the mean rate of desertification. Soil index by 2.21 scoring value was classified in median class and water index by 1.46 scoring value was classified in poor class. Soil depth had the biggest influence and water SAR and Cl had the least influence on desertification. Based on the assessments, geometrical mean of desertification rate quantity value for the entire region was 1.76, thus based on for the entire region was classified in median class.
