Abstract:
This paper introduces an analytical expression for identify optimal size and location of wind-based distributed generation (DG) units so as to achieve the highest loss reduction in a distribution system. This paper considers a time-varying load model to find the penetration level of wind-based DG (wind DG) units in a distribution system. This recommended analytical method first size wind DG unit optimally, which can supply active and reactive powers to the system. This is based on derivation of a multi-objective index (IMO) including both active and reactive power losses. Then, this expression allocate wind DG units while considering a time-varying load model and probabilistic wind DG generation simultaneously. To validate the proposed analytical approach, a 33-bus standard IEEE radial distribution test system has been applied. The results shows that the time-varying load model and probabilistic wind DG output can impress the allocation of wind DG and its penetration level to the system.
