Energy and Sustainable Development in Developing Countries

Energy is important which can contribute to reach the sustainable development. Energy conservative policies and researches are crucial in leading the developing countries into the ways of sustainable development. In particular, these policies and researches strengthen three pillars of sustainable development that include: Economy via improving productivity; Social welfare via promoting standards of living and security; and Environment via reducing the pollution. In this paper, a detailed is presented for understanding the related concepts to energy and sustainable development. Clearly, energy connects to sustainable development with three ways. Energy as a source of producing environmental pressures, energy as a driving force of macro economic growth, and a precondition for satisfying the basic human needs. The mentioned dimensions are like to the popular triangle dimensions for sustainable development: Environment, economy and society. Besides, the scientifically solutions for confronting the development challenges in developing countries like Iran presents in this research.
