Examining the time interval of re-hospitalization of discharged psychiatric disorders patients abstract

Hospital readmission is one of the important priorities of hospital managers due to the impact on the cost and quality of hospital care and the additional burden on the healthcare system (1). Therefore, identification of patients at risk of rehospitalization and related factors as the first step is a solution that leads to the implementation of interventions and increases clinical effectiveness (2). Rehospitalization is often mentioned as a quality indicator in the treatment and care process. The meaning of re-admission is the return of the patient to the hospital due to incomplete treatment, which can happen for several times (3). Readmission not only has a negative effect on the patient's quality of life, but also has adverse economic effects on the care delivery system. A review of studies conducted in Iran shows that the rate of re-hospitalization in patients with mood disorders is 30% and in patients with psychotic disorders is 40% (4).Readmission accounts for about 17% of all medical hospital payments in the United States, which is about $17.4 billion. Reports have shown that readmission to the hospital within 30 days costs $15 billion. It will be accompanied (5).
