WOODEN POLES FOR OVERHEAD LINES

A long experience of over 50 years has shown successfully that wooden poles are not only suitable for being used in telecommunication and power distribution systems but is also suitable for overhead power trans missior lines of upto 110kv or even 2.30kv. This paper is to give a general idea about usage of wooden poles in high voltage power transmission lines as well as a list of evidence showing the advantages of this type of poles in comparison with steel tower or reinforced concrete poles.
