SERIES COMPENSATION IN IRANIAN EHV TRANSMISSION LINES

Besides many advantages of using series capacitors in EHV Lines, these elements can cause subsynchronous Resonance (SSR) in near by steam Turbine Power Plants, which cause some limitations in its applications. In this paper by a review on the advantages of application of this element in Power network, a new method is presented which can analyze all effects of its applications on near by Generators. The method is then implemented for Iranian 400 KV Transmission lines, and the results are presented.
