Abstract:

The electro-hydraulic system has generally been used in modern industries. Its dynamics have large extent of uncertainties and are highly nonlinearities. In this paper, in order to increase the reliability and controllability of the system, the Sliding Mode Control (SMC) is designed to overcome the problems of the system uncertainties and also, SMC has been designed to improve the position performance of the electro-hydraulic system. To reach optimal SMC, the Genetic Algorithm (GA) is recommended to tune gain of the SMC to improve the performance of the electro-hydraulic system. In the GA, new cost function is defined to optimize the proposed controller for the optimization. The simulation results show that the proposed optimal controller improves the position performance of the electro-hydraulic system within nonlinearities and uncertainties. Also, the proposed control method guarantees the robustness of the electro-hydraulic system and stability of system based on Lyapunov’s second method.
