Abstract:

The history of Iran has left a considerable legacy in the section of water conservation, storage and collection methods, which could provide an efficient and propermanagement of available water resources, However it is not valued enough and is not considered to be used as new methods in water supply.The purpose of this Paper is to elaborate some environmentally friendly technical methods in sustainable manner. Also the historical values of theancient hydro-structures (water storage systems) in Iran will be discussed. This paper has tried to use Old Iranian architectural technology and creativity in Hydrostructuresas a water supply system. In addition, it has been investigated that how wind power can be used to pump water in a solar distillation (for desalination) as a promising renewable energy-powered technology to produce and store fresh water. In accordance with the emerged requirements, anew design of hydro-structures such as (Ab-anbar, yakhchal) has been introduced to supply more usable water in deserted areas.
