Abstract:
Renewable energy resources are used for electricity generation and space heating and cooling which is valuable implement to dominate the economic dependence on fossil fuels and ensuring energy supply to the standard of today’s development. Also, it can be used as an alternative energy system to decrease CO2 emissions. Recently, geothermal energy resources have used as an infinitive source of energy to meet energy demand. In this study, the economic feasibility and environmental analysis of heating and cooling ground source pumps systems (GSHP) equipped for a residential buildings have been evaluated. The system performance was studied at three different climatic conditions of Iran. In this research, the diffrences in green house gas emission and economic costs in both base cases and proposed case for each city were estimated. The results illustrated that GSHP is able to reduce the amount of CO2 emissions by 65.36%, 85.71% and 75% for mild, cold and warm climates, respectively. The equity payback time is computed about 5.2, 11.8 and 19.1 years for Abadan, Tehran and Tabriz, respectively which shows the suitability of proposed system for Abadan and Tehran.
