Rapid technological changes in the present era have led companies to collaborate together to adapt tothe dynamism of the environment. The main aid of this inter-organizational collaborations is toacquire knowledge. The most important field of knowledge in each organization is the knowledgeabout the organizational core competence. If the organization s core competence be dynamic and theorganization be effective in acquiring it, organization would reach sustainable competitive advantage.Acquiring core competence knowledge from collaborations need specific considerations. This paperaims to investigate the factors affecting the process of acquiring core competence knowledge frominter-organizational collaborations. Four factors have found to affect this process: Senior managementinvolvement, Intensity of efforts, Type of Collaboration, and Intention.
